AAK has been selected as a finalist in the category of Sustainability Pioneer for the upcoming Sustainable Beauty Awards. The pioneer award is given to an operator in the beauty industry that is a leader or pioneer in some aspect of sustainability. Such aspects could be anything from a new synthesis process, extraction technique or use / production of novel materials, to carbon management, energy management, social aspects, etc.
The Sustainable Beauty Awards will be co-hosted alongside the European edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit to be held in Paris November 6-8. Winners and runner-ups will be announced at a special Sustainability Beauty Awards reception on the evening of the November 6th.
In a statement from summit organizer, Ecovia Intelligence, AAK has been informed that, “As in previous years, we have received an overwhelming response to the awards with entries received from every continent. Because of the high calibre of entries, there was much deliberation between the jury to shortlist the finalists.”
“Naturally we are very pleased to be selected as a finalist in this category,” says Carsten Jæger, Global Business Development & Marketing Director. “We are very focused on what we call ‘sustainable growth’ and have accomplished a lot over the years in the areas of sustainability and CSR. One example that really stands out is our direct sourcing programme in West Africa. The number of women currently engaging with the programme now exceeds 100,000.”
